Crossfit Games Men/Women 2018 Odds
The CrossFit Games are an annual athletic competition for CrossFit athletes. The competition is looking to find the fittest people on Earth and is a gruelling physical test for the athletes involved while being a spectacular event for the fans. The competition is sponsored by CrossFit Inc. and Reebok and held at different locations.
The CrossFit Games have been held since 2007. The inaugural tournament was held in California (Aromas), at a private ranch (owned by close family members of the Games director Dave Castro). There were no restrictions for the applicants – anyone who made it to the ranch was allowed to participate. It was the same next year (2008), but after hundreds of participants entered the tournament, the board decided it was time for a change.
From 2009, the participants were invited to the tournament due to their placement in last year’s tournament or through a set of qualifying events held at local CrossFit gyms known as Regionals. The CrossFit Games also added a Team Division where groups of four men and four women participated in the challenging rounds.
Year by year, the popularity of the CrossFit Games rose, with thousands of new participants each year. The CrossFit Games are one of the fastest growing sports in the USA. The Reebok CrossFit tournament involves 40 women, 40 men, 40 teams, 80 teenagers, and 240 masters, each one fighting for cash prizes and the Fittest Athlete on Earth award. The competition involves cycling, weightlifting, aerobic exercises and other exercises not typical to the standard CrossFit regime challenges such as softball throwing or obstacle courses.
American Mathew Fraser is the reigning champion in the Men’s Singles, with Tia-Clair Toomey being the champion in the Women’s Singles. The Wasatch CrossFit team is the reigning champion in the Team Division. This year’s CrossFit Games will be held from August 1-5 at the Alliant Energy Centre in Madison, WI. It will have over 14,500 affiliates, making it a landmark year for the tournament.
Energy Bet – Women’s Singles 2018 CrossFit Games Outright Winner
Energy Bet is a relatively new bookie on the market, having been launched in 2016. They certainly didn’t waste time to promote their business, striking partnership deals with clubs such as Aston Villa and Leyton Orient. This helped Energy Bet establish itself as a reputable bookmaker. Featuring a great number of sports, competitive odds and great specials, Energy Bet surely has a lot in store for both new and experienced punters.
The Any Other bet for the Women’s Singles at the 2018 CrossFit Games is given odds of 7/20. This means that all players other than Tia-Clair Toomey are favourites for the title, but their odds are not particularly pleasing. At 7/20, you can’t expect to win a substantial amount of money, which is why many punters will prefer Toomey.
Australian athlete Tia-Clair Toomey is given odds of 39/20 of winning this year’s Fittest Woman in the World title. Toomey was second in 2016 but won the title in 2017 and is widely expected to win back-to-back titles this year. Toomey is also the only woman to feature in the Olympics and the CrossFit Games in the same year.
LV BET – Women’s Singles 2018 CrossFit Games Outright Winner
Featuring an exclusive bonus for newcomers (100% for up to €50) and a slew of nice specials, LV BET is quickly becoming quite a popular bookie in the UK. The site features a load of sports you can bet on as well as competitive odds in today’s crowded market. It also offers live betting and virtual sports, so there are plenty of options punters shouldn’t miss.
Just like Energy Bet, LV BET offers betting in the Women’s Singles 2018 CrossFit Outright Winner market. Again, Tia-Clair Toomey is the better choice than the Any Other option, being given odds of 37/20 vs. 7/20. Placing your bet on the Australian will nearly triple your investment if she wins, making her the preferred choice.
We’d suggest avoiding betting on the alternative, as there’s really no incentive to do so. The odds are minimal, and even though it seems that Toomey is not the favourite, her impressive dominance at the CrossFit Games in the last few years speaks volumes of her abilities for a repeat.
Energy Bet – Men’s Singles 2018 CrossFit Games Outright Winner
In the Men’s Singles market, Energy Bet gives 7/20 odds to American Mathew Fraser. Fraser has already won the 2016 and 2017 CrossFit Games, with bookies and experts not seeing past him for this year’s title. However, his odds are not that exciting to punters, which means you’ll have to give the alternative a look.
Besides betting on Fraser, Energy Bet gives you a chance to bet on any other athlete for the title, giving that choice odds of 39/20. This means that Energy Bet believes the other challengers will have to overcome difficult odds to beat the American. Still, odds of 39/20 are much better from a punter’s point of view, so if you’re planning to put a bet on anyone in the CrossFit Games, we’d risk it all and back any other athlete. Wouldn’t you try to triple your investment rather than getting almost nothing in return?
LV BET – Men’s Singles 2018 CrossFit Games Outright Winner
The promising young bookie LV BET also favours Mathew Fraser for the title in this year’s CrossFit Games. Giving him odds of 7/20, LV BET has made the American quite a heavy favourite, giving any other athlete odds of 39/20. Although Fraser seems likely to become the Fittest Man on Earth for the third time in a row, young athletes are sure to test his skills. With odds for Any Other being at 39/20, we think it’s quite the better option for punters.
Fraser is a former weightlifting competitor who switched to CrossFit in 2012 due to a back injury. The American took second place in 2014 and 2015, then won the 2016 title in dominant fashion (biggest margin in CrossFit Games history). This was followed by another win in 2017. Although a favourite this year, getting 3 titles in a row isn’t easy, so maybe this will be the year other athletes step up and dethrone him.
